HISTORY OF THE END OF THE WORLD (17)
“This morning, I want to talk to you about demons, possession and exorcism.” Jian looked through his papers, while the last students got seated. Finally he seemed to have found, what he was looking for and started inspecting the classroom. He noticed there was a kind of a crowd. Not only the juveniles and students were there, he even saw the Master sitting near an exit.
“The current Dalai Lama has said that psychiatry, will never under stand their patients if they ignore the facts of former lifes. He has a point there. I want to underline his Holiness' vision by stating, that psychology will never understand its subjects if they ignore the existence of ghosts, demons, angels and other extra-dimensional beings. Our reality is much more complex, and exiting, than we think. And dangerous. Ignorance causes suffering, sometimes in a next life. So they say and with they I am talking of billions of people, all around the world, believing in things like that and acting upon it, while in the meantime official science declares it a hoax or the product of over-imaginative people. Scientifically these entities don't exist. Ironically youngsters are discouraged to research this field, because it is dangerous. And, without proper guidance, it can be very dangerous and it can end in terrible suffering. Which I wanted to illustrate with this documentary I found on the internet.” Jian touched the main screen and stepped aside.

The first things Laura saw, were images of an elderly priest, climbing the stairs of a big building, holding a bottle of water in his hands. A priest, who was awaited by two male doctors in white. Italy, she thought. The three hurried through the building, which was definitively a hospital. One of the doctors used keys several times before they entered in what seemed to be a psychiatric section. Her mind immidiately locked with the poor patients, she saw. She had been there! But these patients were not part of the documentary. The doctors and the priest finally arrived at, so she thought to understand, the cells for solitary confinement. One was opened and she was shocked, as were most of the viewers present, so she heard. Tied with leather strips a young teenager was sitting in a chair. She had long black hair, which hung before her face. Suddenly spasms went through the young body. The girl shook her face, so that her face could be seen. It was terrible. Her facial expression could be hardly called human at all. She rolled her eyes and spit at the doctors. With a voice, which could be her own, she yelled at and threatened her visitors.
The priest started saying prayers and sprinkled the holy water over her head. An explosion followed. Objects flew through the air and one of the doctors fell to the ground. But the priest seemed undisturbed and went on with his duties. In the end the girl collapsed. Relieved the priest said his final prayers and the girl was taken away.
“These kind of rituals are performed all over the world. The problems are getting bigger and bigger. What you see, are two types of suffering. The suffering of that young girl and the suffering of the system. The priest has to put an enormous effort in breaking the spirit of one little girl. Let's meditate on that.”, these were the first words spoken by Jian, went the lights went on. He looked at the exit. The Master was gone.
