 Introduction to Atlantis.

The cellar was crowded this evening. Word has spread fast, that Jian, nicknamed “the crazy monk”, would give an extra lecture on Atlantis, due to recent developments. Some said it had to do with the Black Sea-crisis. Quite recently an enormous, buried, pyramid was found near Sebastopol. According to some, this find was the reason Putin annexed the Crimea. “Old artefacts and buildings can be used as weapons in a battle for supremacy on another level.” Jian immediately started talking when he entered the room. “No time to spare. This was a possibility to imprint some concepts and reveal some secrets.”, he thought, “Adolf Hitler immediately got hold of the “Spear of Destiny”; a weapon, that supposedly had pierced Jesus at the cross. Later in history the relic enlarged the power of Kings and emperors in Europe. It made them undefeated in battle. Hitler had the relic brought from Vienna, its last resting place, to Berlin.

“But concepts and names can contain power as well. Demons seem to hate a crucifix and hearing the name of Jesus Christ. Atlantis as a concept and a name has power, are containing hidden messages and the mystery of Atlantis has an enormous attraction on humans for more than 2000 years. Explorers searched for it and archeologists dugged and dived to find the sunken city. The library, containing just books, media and documents about Atlantis, is hughe and still growing every day.

The story of Atlantis was first written down by Plato, a famous teacher and philosopher, in the fourth century BC. He describes Atlantis and the catastrophic events that destroyed it. A story brought back by the great Athenian politician Solon, from a trip to Egypt. It was here the famous lawgiver and statesman picked up the tale of Atlantis, which the Greeks had forgotten. Even though Athens defeated the Atlantean fleet and army!

Plato was of middle-age, when he wrote his dialogues and the philosopher did not even finish the story. It ends in mid-sentence.

But when we look closer, the origins of the Atlantean society become different. Plato heard the story of Atlantis at a banquet, with several guests. These were feasts and the Greek loved wine. In this context Plato heard the story of the unforunate city. He was not even 20 years old!

Plato himself noted many stories and details about Atlantis. He also noted that the nice thing about Atlantis was, that it was fact. Not fiction.”
